Who Really Elects the President of the United States ?

As Christians approach this issue, we need to be reminded of  a few important teachings from the Bible.

According to Daniel (2:21; 4:17, 25, 32; 5:21) it is God who appoints kings (governments) over the affairs of mankind.

( Israel governed by the Babylonian Kingdom )

According to the Gospel of Luke Jesus said, ... "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are
Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." (Luke 20:25 NKJV).
( Israel governed by the Roman Empire )

According to the Book of Romans  the Apostle Paul says, "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."  (Romans 13:1 NKJV).

While all governments are appointed by the God of the Bible, it is apparent that some governments are a blessing from God and some are a discipline from God.

According to 1 Samuel God's people decided that they did not want God to be their King, but that they wanted to have a human king like the other nations around them.  Even though God warned them that this would not b a good thing for them, He granted them their desire (1 Samuel 8).

The Bible teaches us that Israel went into a cycle of following the Lord whereby He gave them a good king and when they stopped following the Lord He gave them a bad king (1 & 2 Kings).

My question to the Christians in the United States is this; would you say that our God is going to give us a good king (president) or a bad king (president)?

2 Chronicles 7:14-15 was God's counsel to Israel
and I believe it to be good counsel for God's people today!

I am Pastor John, and I approve this message!
